Our ‘Shallow and Sheltered’ trips are specifically aimed at newly qualified divers, returning qualified divers looking to rebuild confidence, and qualified divers who prefer shallow and sheltered dive sites located in more settled conditions than our regular club trips sometimes visit.
You will be diving with with other divers of similar experience and interests. Snorkellers are also welcome, however scuba diving is the main focus of the trips.
The trips enable you to practice the skills gained in training and lets you build your experience and confidence levels so you can progress safely to more advanced dive sites if you wish.
We are happy to buddy you up with more experienced divers, or you are welcome to dive with your own buddy.
Cost: $70.00 for club members
On request, the Mount Maunganui Underwater Club has a number of experienced dive instructor members who may be available to accompany you.
For divers requiring an instructor to sign off a dive, please discuss this with the Club Captain or a committee member before booking your dive trip so we can endeavour to have an instructor on board.
** Note – the MMUC does not train divers. If you require diver training please contact one of the organisations advertising on this website or in our magazine.
Not everyone wants to be a scuba diver – we can arrange practical support and encouragement for those wanting to learn free-diving and snorkelling at a beginner or intermediate level too. Just ask if you’d like some help or advice!
